Not sore throat

My fever, sore muscle, headache, nausea compelled me to go the doctor on Sunday. I was so miserable that I agreed to take a shot. It had been so so so long since I took one for sickness. The shot was painful because it had a mild version of the virus in it but it worked wonders!

Monday morning, however, I found red dots and sores on my lips. " Oh no! Baby bear gave it to me!" I thought as I looked in the mirror. The pain in my throat, mouth and tongue got worse as the day proceeded. I felt the nerves in my mouth screaming whenever I swallow something.

I went to the doctor again. The doctor said right away that I got it from baby and there were several holes in my mouth and throat. I told the doctor that it hurt a lot. "There is no quick fix." The doctor told me and gave me some more medicine.

The worst part: I need to talk! :(

Ok, no more complaining. It'll be ok.

Baby, do you know mama is sick?

Sick AGAIN

Papa bear took today off to take care of baby bear, who got virus that caused him to have something like canker sore inside his throat, and on his tongue. It's painful so he was drinking milk slowly.

Can't believe I haven't even fully recovered from the cold got, and now I have a fever. :(

I have been running around nonstop, and just when I finally got to rest and eat dinner that I realized I felt sick.

Hope after I sleep we all will feel better.

Postpartum hair loss

My hair has been falling out since the baby was four months old, which makes the hair loss process five months now!

Every time I take a shower I have to clean the drain twice so that the water can go down. I get handful of hair each time. It's really scary. You can find my hair everywhere in the house. So my hair is super thin now. The new hair is growing. They are like sprouts sticking out and my students say I look like a baby chicken, a lion and a pineapple.

I hope my I can get my hair back soon!

9 months!

It's been 9 months! Yay! My baby bear is my heart my liver(心肝寶貝)!

Now his sleeping buddies include Mousy, Pong Pong (the penguin) and Hobo (the lion).

Friend's wedding

Went to a friend's wedding. The them is "going back in time" so they made a video of them going back to ancient China and Shanghai in the 40s and they finally come back to Taipei in 2013. It was a lot of fun! The hosts were in ancient China cloths too.

This is what happens when matching sucks are mysteriously gone during the rush in the morning. I couldn't help find the socks because I left for work and papa bear didn't wan baby bear's feet to get cold at the daycare.

Baby bear had his 10th vaccine. He weighs 8.4 kg (17.1 pounds) now.

Baby likes to hide

Daycare teacher told us that baby bear likes to hide in the holes and put the toys in the holes/cave too.

We know baby likes to go under the couch, dining table and chairs. He also enjoys hiding the remote control and his socks under the couch. :)

We three all got sick (stinky virus!!!) so there hasn't been updates recently. I went to doctor and feel better. Baby bear and papa bear are fine now.

Papa bear took us to a fancy buffet in a fancy hotel in Taipei. We brought baby bear's seat to the restaurant since the ones they offer are always too big for baby bear now. He had some sweet potatoes from the salad bar too!

Meet new friends

Met this group of people from a closed group on Facebook. We have one thing in common: our SO are all non-Taiwanese. So the group organizer suggested we meet, and we did. We had a good time meeting one another. We went to a restaurant run by one of the group member who had the best stories. Imagine just walking with a westerner on the street in Taiwan in 1970s. The stories were just so sad and amazing.

College friend's wedding

I was having dinner so I put baby bear in the chair and gave him a piece of tangerine. I thought he would just play with it but then he picked it up and started chewing on it!!  I tried little cookie balls before but he wasn't able to pick them up because they were too small.

The tangerine was a bit sour but it turned out baby bear loved it!! :) :)

Baby's first Halloween! We are The Avengers!!!

We dressed up as three super heroes from the Avengers: Captain America (Baby Bear), Black Widow (Mama Bear) and Tony Stark (Papa Bear)

We were soooooo excited for Baby Nathan's first Halloween!

Baby Bear: "Wooo, her neck is soft too!"

After taking the pictures, when we were getting ready to call it a day. A really strong earthquake occurred at 8:03 pm. It was so violent that the lamp and fan fell down to the ground. I was freaking out but flew to Baby Bear and picked him up from the crib. I held him so tight thinking if I were to die, then I wouldn't let anything hurt my baby! Every time an earthquake happens, I will immediately think of the one that killed lots lots of people in Middle Taiwan when I was in high school. That was a big tragedy. 

Jonathan had never experienced an earthquake like this before, so he wasn't sure what was going on. When he realized it was a strong earthquake, he had already seen me fly into the room at light speed. We turned on the TV right after it stopped, the news had already been talking about it, even CNN was talking about it. 

 Finally I believe a mother would be able to carry a big heavy fridge if an emergency happens.
